Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Captain Lawrence, muffin top taster; canned 05/19/2020.
A: Pours a very dark brown to black color with mahogany highlights, a less than one finger, light brown head, rim retention, and limited lacing.
S: Aromas of bourbon, dark chocolate, orange zest, molasses, and toffee. The bourbon note is much more than subtle..
T: Sweet. Flavors follow the nose, but with the addition of maple and licorice. Solidly bitter but very, very boozy (a bit much for my taste).
M: Full bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Flavorful, but still really trying to get past the booziness. Not my favorite version of the style.
