Legit surprised that this beer hasn't been added until today. 1st review on BA. Had this at the Single, Fresh, Wet & Wild festival put on by Sierra Nevada in Chico, CA.
Its an amber colored wet hop ale. 1/5" white head. Not all that aromatic. The brewery seems pretty mum on the variety of the hops they got from a farm in NY, but they're all about telling you they used 250lbs (which doesn't seem like much for a brewery of this size). Mild bittering hop with the ubiquitous non proprietary hop rind and pine push. Seems easy enough to guess Cascade.
Taste is fine, there is a good amount of crystal malt on this, which is unfortunate when you're trying to show off wet hops. At the end of the day, its like they took SNPA and made it less hoppy, more malty, more boozy. Those are 3 things in the wrong direction IMHO. I mean even if you want to go with all that caramel river flow like SNPA has, you gotta pump your bitterness up to withstand that effort.
