Bright gold color, blessedly clear with a dense, white foamy head. Excellent lace and retention with visible, slow carbonation.
Woodsy floral bouquet with warm mash tun grain aromas and some white icing on sweet rolls notes.
The flavor is well balanced, toasted and caramelized grain sweetness blends seamlessly with resinous pine and clover hops in a surprisingly light bodied "big" beer. The body is actually medium to me, but it tastes like it should have more heft which just makes it dangerously drinkable at 9%.
Alcohol is neatly folded in and hardly noticeable until the end.
Hop bite meshes with the boozy burn on the finish leaving a satisfying aftertaste worth savoring.
My faith is restored in East Coast breweries.

-golden can pour with a white foam cap and a slight haze.
The aroma is of earthy hops with a mere whiff of tangerine.
The flavor is pine-forward with Centennial and Zeus hop notes more prominent than the Citra.
There is a bit of alcohol heat in the finish.
-a tasty West-Coast style DIPA.

A golden amber color has just been added to a clear Imperial pint glass. It arrived via a pint can from The Captain. It's somewhere between translucent and opaque and it's beautiful. It's well carbonated, but the head doesn't last long. Not many 9% ABV IPAs' have ones that endure. The glass lacing is notable. There's a nicely clean hoppiness for the nose to enjoy. Now it's the taste buds turn. They're happy, too. The body is rich, but not malty sweet. Most of the taste is an exchange of various hop characteristics. The front is a sharp piney compliment to the malt and the finish runs dry and bitter. The mouthfeel is good, but there is a bit more alcohol, especially at the finish, than ideal. Still, one excellent chance for a hop head to get a fix (and a buzz).

Direct from the source a few days ago...16 ouncer, with "canned 1/06/21" stamped on the bottom. "Imperial IPA" stamped on the label.

Pours out with a light haze, off white froth with fine sheeting left on the glass.

Earthy resiny hopped up nose.

Fresh and flavorful offering with hops hops and more hops the star of the show here...reminds me of slightly fruitier 90 minute Ale from DFH. Resiny hops, broad shoulders and a smooth maple malt under belly smoothening things out.

Well crafted and well worth a try
