Served in a teku glass from the
Appearance: Cloudy darker gold with a white head rising about one fingers length off the body.
Smell: Light floral aroma which feels like hibiscus hovering the nostrils. Potent but leaves the nose quickly.
Taste: floral punch of a beer which feels like lavender and touch evergreen feels to the palate. Has a special strong bitter feel but not overly done which was offset
Mouth: Dry but sticky feeling after two sips of the brew.
Overall: Good brew. Palate cleansing feel with no tweaking to be done. Salud!

16oz. can into a Founders snifter.
Nose is soap, citrus, pine, and grass. Fresh with a nice zestiness. Beer opens citrus, pineapple, straw, and orange. Somehow this one tastes old and stale. There's a weird tartness in the middle that dries the palate and makes the mouth pucker. Slightly astringent and dry at the finish. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively on the palate and goes down dry. Pretty drinkable.
Decent but the hop profile here doesn't excite me.

Captain Lawrence never lets me down, absolute incredible beer. Pours a gorgeous light orange color similar to orange juice. Beautiful glass lacing and a nice thick foamy head that lasts around a few minutes. Smell is very tropical and juicy and the taste is exactly the same. Very floral/juicy ipa I cannot be more happier.

16oz can dated 4/7/21.
Pours cloudy yellow with a short head of white. Minimal retention or lacing. Pungent stonefruit in the nose with sweet cocktail syrup. Medium bodied with a soft but limp mouthfeel. Juicy tropicals on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Pear, honeydew, and pineapple. Finishes a bit sweet with lingering tropicals and low carbonation.

It's been a bit since CL has really impressed me with one of their IPAs, in all honesty, which sucks because at one time they were really on top of their game. I'm hoping this one redeems them a bit in my eyes, because I may have to stop buying their stuff with as much regularity if I'm gonna be let down consistently. Hate to do it, but this is gonna be the last real chance I give 'em for a while. Will they win me back?
The pour here is solid, for sure. Hazy, nearing opaque, with a nice yellow-goldenrod color that builds up a beautiful, tight head of bone-white suds on top of the obscure liquid that tumbles smoothly into my glass. Though it never really gets much bigger than a finger or so, it retains well and has great legs and a nice interconnected web pattern of lace that I think is subtly wonderful. Once I pour the whole glass in, it seems to get a bit more active, with bigger bubbles immediately forming and taking a bit longer to dissipate. Maybe some settled yeast/hops or something, but not a bad thing. By the way, this was canned 4/7/21, making it two-and-a-half weeks old. Not bad.
The nose here consists of bright lemon and guava candy notes with some funky dankness, earthy undertones, and a hint of yeast underpinning it all. It's not an overly-amazing smell, but it feels kind of comforting and definitely appropriate considering this fun little hop combo. There's definitely a bit of the ethanol coming through, as well, letting you know this is definitely not a single IPA. I'm okay with that, but let's see how it tastes.
Oof, yeah, this is strong. Tastes maybe a bit higher than 8.5%, honestly, but could be CL's yeast hitting me harder than some others. For some reason, their house yeast has been extra-estery lately, and I get big upfront flavors of tangelo, lemon, florals, and dankness. Mid-palate has a little bit of smoothness; feels like wheat, but the end of my first few sips starts to catch up with it once again, bringing out mango and pine with equal aplomb. Dry and almost "powdery" finish. Quite yeasty, as I mentioned, and I'd say I wish these beers by them were a bit cleaner because even though the flavors here are pretty good, it just seems like it's going to give me a headache. So, I think that does just about settle it; time to take a bit of a break from these guys. Just not up to the quality I'd like. Unfortunate, but it happens.

"Limited Edition" " Double Hazy IPA"
Tall can direct from the source (Mt. Kisco location) a few hours ago. Canned 4/7/21, so yeah super freshie.
Fully hazed/juiced look, nice fine bubble film and scattered acing left behind on the glass.
Full ripe tropical fruit sniff....stone fruits, pineapple, full array of the usuals...enticing and enjoyable.
Full flavor DNIPA, more of the sniff all over the palate....ripe fruits abounding, pineapple, stone fruits, mango, lime, grapefruit...the works....freshly flavorful and quite delicious...when the Captain hits it right, we are talking world class...fine stuff....
