Brief flash of a white head on an opaque light gold body. Aroma is a mixed bag. From the can I frankly can't tell if it's tropical fruit I'm smelling or some kind of refermentation. Sipping on this is excellent. The passion fruit and guava are in full force and it's a very refreshing beer. Even the pretzels are pretty clear to discern but it's strange how guava and passion fruit seem to meld so well with Snyder's pretzels, but I guess the mad lads at Captain Lawrence knew. The malt aspect of the pretzel is present, but so is the salt. The salt comes clear as if eating the pretzels themselves and not so much in a gose way, though it does play around in that territory. Thick feeling body both in carbonation and consistency. This is a good one!

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed straw color with a puffy head of pure white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time to leave a touch of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is sweet of passionfruit and guava mixed with some cracker malt aromas and a bit of a salty doughiness. Along with these aromas comes a touch of must and some citrus smells.
Taste – The taste begins with a cracker malt flavor mixed with the guava and passionfruit that were in the nose. At the same time there is a light lemon and apple cider sourness as well as an orange citrus in there as well, producing a rather fruity and lightly tart flavor. As the taste moves forward a little bit of saltiness and a touch of grain comes to the tongue, producing an odd salty fruited taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thin and crisp with a carbonation level that is average to high. For the tastes and the abv the feel is pretty and makes for an easy sipper.
Overall – Not really my kind of brew. The fruit and the saltiness just don’t mix for me….

A - Light gold with a slight pink tinge to the color, no carbonation, no lacing.

S - Mineral-like fruit punch, like a kid's drink.

T - Grain base takes front and center at the beginning and the end with pretzel and some fruitiness in the middle.

M - Thin medium body with no carbonation.

O - Kinda meh.
