A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1 finger finely pored white head that receded to a skim cap very nice rings of lace;

S: grainy; some malt sweetness and a touch of hop spice;

T: follows the nose for a moment, then there's a dull, heavy, hop character - earthy and citrusy - that takes over through the mildly bitter finish;

M: medium boded; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish that kept drying out into the after taste;

O: easy drinking, but the hop flavors overwhelmed what makes the flavor of a kolsch so special;

16oz can poured into a tonic pint

A- pours a clear golden color with a one-finger foamy white head that has great retention

S- light grassy and citrusy hops with a hint of white grape, cracker malt, slightly doughy, earthy yeast

T- a bit more hop-forward than a standard kolsch; grass and citrus peel up front, followed by some fruity notes of white grape and berries. The finish gives some toasted malt and a hint of honey-like sweetness, more hops on the linger

M- light-medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a crisp finish, high drinkability

clear, medium golden in color, white head. Nice and refreshing, the dry hopping is mild. Slightly sweet malt, but clean and easy drinking.

Listed as a Kolsch style ale with Bavarian hops. As Kolsch goes, this did not taste as a Kolsch. It tasted more of a light IPA. Basically took a IPA and weakened it to a Kolsch %. Not what I expected.

16 oz. can stamped 5/20/2922 poured into a Pilsner glass.

Lightly hazed orange-gold. Two fingers fine white head, spotty lacing, full surface cap.
Prominent Mandarina Bavaria citrus, honey, light mineral aromas.
Bitter tangerine, light pine, underlying Kölsch yeast flavors.
Slight astringent hop feel, good carbonation, dry and refreshing.
Had my doubts, but it won me over. Will buy another.

It was bottled about two months ago. Poured from a 16 oz. can: slightly hazy orange hue with a quickly receding white head. Far deeper in color than what you would expect for the style, but this is an American interpretation.

The aroma is quite impressive, due no doubt to the dry-hopping with Mandarina Bavaria hops. Very prominent bittersweet tropical fruit dominates.

That bittersweet aroma is evident in the flavor as the first sip was almost astringent on the palate. We are really not talking Kolsch here but a very flavorful American pale ale. As the ale warms, the flavors settle down and you have some nice mandarin, mango, and marmalade.

I am reviewing this one to taste, not style; otherwise, this would be a solid miss.

A - Medium gold color with some light chill haze, there's a healthy layer of white creamy foam swimming on top and carbonation is moderate.

S - Tangerine and citrus along with some earthiness and bready, light honey malt on the nose.

T - Bready malt body with some slight graininess followed with delicate tangerine, citrus, some tropical fruit while ending balanced with a slight nod towards the sweeter maltier side.

M - Solid medium body with sprightly carbonation on the tongue and leaves an all around wet finish with a slight bit of dryness on the back of the tongue.

O - I wouldn't seek it out again but it does go down quite nicely on a muggy day like today.

An easy pour from a 16-oz. can released a finger of off-white soapy foam which quickly shrank to a ring with no lasting lacing. Clear golden straw color with a hint of orange.

Very faint smell of bread, cracker and toast with a hint of citrus and herbal hops.

Neutral taste with very low bitterness. The taste is much bigger than the smell. Bready malt with some toast leads the way followed by cracker, fruity white wine, a hint of honey and mild balancing hops. The Lager-like finish is fast, crisp and clean. It becomes semi-dry. The wine and hops linger briefly. Bitterness rises slightly yet remains low.

Medium light bodied with soft and lasting carbonation. Refreshing, balanced and smooth; alcohol is well hidden.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + burnt orange +c popper+ amber colored highlights.The beer has a two finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a handful of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of bready + grainy + light toasted malts with minimal amounts of grainy sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of spicy + earthy + citrus/tangerine peel hops. Light aromas of yeastiness.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + grainy + light toasted malts with minimal amounts of grainy sweetness. That is followed by a light flavor of yeastiness. Finally there are light to moderate flavors of spicy + earthy + citrus/tangerine peel hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which lingers for a short to moderate amount of time, then fades away.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly soft with a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and an easy soft slightly dry mouthfeel. Enjoyable and a very nice beer after spending a bunch of hours out in the hot NC summer sun.
