Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow color with a one finger white foam head that settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic streaks and spots of lacing left behind.
The aroma is very spice forward with lots of ginger, pepper, clove and corriander followed by a slight grassy hop presence and some light fruit notes.
Medium bodied with a prominent zesty spice character up cent that lingers over the earthy and sweeter notes into a dry finish. Lots of pepper and ginger that slightly overpower the beer but kolsch characteristics are still evident. Subtle earthy hop, grass, straw and light fruit notes, notably apple and pear.
Overall this is an ok beer but unjust don't see how the spices improve anything. They aren't over the top and the beer is decently balanced but i'd rather just drink the regular kolsch.

on tap this weekend at Capt L tasting room in Pleasantville.
Pours a solid gold.
Aroma is wheat and spices.
Very deep texture - "tastes like food" - starts light and ends rich.
Would have left with a few growlers full - but they were out of glass.
Love this place and every beer I've tasted from them...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
