First had: on tap at Captain Lawrence, Elmsford, NY
Poured into a signature pint, a hazy, woody brown color with a small, creamy, off-white head that displayed excellent retention and left lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma was full of caramel malts and roast, brown sugar and earthy hops. Taste was smooth and malty, roasty, caramel and brown sugar, Mary Janes, toasted bread, with a nice earthy hop finish. Medium body, smooth and easily drinkable, one of my favorites from my visit to the brewery.
