This certainly did surprise me. I had it today at the Brewery to go with my cherry-peach tart and this beer certainly represented itself well. It pours a cherry (surprise) color with a burgundy color around the sides. There might have been a head but it was gone by the time I got the beer. Smell is amazingly surprising. Cherry syrup sweetness is there but the sour, vinegar aspects shine through in a great way. A bit musty as well, I like it! Taste brings more sweetness than the aroma but the vinegar is always there hiding underneath holding the sweetness back from becoming cloying. The cherry sweetness seems a little fake like they used cherry syrup but it's not bad. Finish is moderate acidic but still lingers. This is an easy sipper even though it doesn't pack a huge punch. Much better than that god-awful raspberry lambic I had there a few months ago. Recommended for sure.
