Had to try this one for the name alone. I know, that's why marketing departments exist. On-tap at the Cock & Bull pub in Sarasota, FL.
Pours a dark reddish-brown with a good-sized tan head. Good lace left behind as well.
Smell is hops, light malt and an undetermined spice scent.
Taste is a piney/hoppy flavor and some malt. Medium-bodied with average carbonation. The malt/hop mix lingers in the aftertaste, mellowing decently. The balance was decent but no real complexity. For that matter, no nut in the Nut Brown Ale. Too bad.

On tap at Boulder Beer Brewpub. Poured a dark reddish brown color with a nice thick head. Head stuck around through the entire pint, and left a thick layer of lacing. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied. Nice sweet maltiness, with a good amount of hops to leave a bitter finish. A very tasty example of the style - I wish this was a regular instead of a one off for the contest!
