bland and disappointing...maybe that should be boulder beer’s motto?

Enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate. This unique hybrid brew
pours a moderately cloudy pale golden amber color with a nice head of white
foam that subsides to a thick ring, thick layer, and features light lacing. Nose of
sweet wheat touched with honey malts, candied grapefruit, and subtle piney notes.
Flavors exceed the nose with wheat and honey awash in grapefruit notes with subtle
banana and light notes of spice that hits and then fades fast to a moderate piney
hop flavor. Excellent mouth feel, an IPA that has the smoothness of a hefewizen.
Brilliant! Subtle lemon, grapefruit, and pine bitterness on the finish. Overall a fantastic
brew ESPECIALLY considering I am no hop head.
Cheers

This beer pours a murky golden color. The head is bubbly and frothy. The nose has the banana scent that you'd expect, but I also get citrus notes. Taste is very interesting. It tastes more like an IPA than a hefe. It feels fairly full bodied. Very unique flavor.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance- The beer is served a super cloudy golden orange color with a small head of white foam. The head has a light level of retention, quickly fading to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma of the brew is strong of a wheat smell mixed with a good showing of yeast and some spice of coriander and clove. Along with these aromas comes other smells of grapefruit and a little bit of banana and pine.
Taste – The taste begins with wheat bread flavor mixed with a decent showing of a grapefruit hop. Upfront there are also some lighter yeasty tastes, which with the grapefruit hop grow stronger in flavor. Some spice of coriander and clove come to the tongue later in the taste and are joined by some banana and a little bit of an orange sweetness. Other hop flavors of pine and a little bit of grass come more toward the end and with a lightening of the wheat and a very small lightening of the spice, one is left with a rather wheaty and grapefruity hefe taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the chewier side with a carbonation level that is slightly lower. For the mix of yeasty wheat, spice and grapefruit hop that feel is quite nice creating a thick and chewy brew that accentuates al the flavors rather nicely.
Overall- I rather enjoyed this brew. It was a hopped up hefe with tons of grapefruit which matched the wheat, yeast and spice rather well.

Just another summer beer. Good but not great. Unfortunately to hoppy for the wheat drinkers and not enough hops for the IPA fan.

Never having this beer before, and judging strictly by the name. I thought for sure this was going to be an IPA. Little to my surprise this beer screamed Belgium wheat, which I'm not a huge fan of. So I already didn't like it. But I never let a beer go to waste. The color of this beer was beautiful. Say a cloudy, golden color. I muscled it down, and it really stuck to the Belgium characteristics the whole way through. Maybe with a touch more bitterness. Wasn't A bad beer just not my particular style! If you like Belgiums give it a try you will probably love it! And if anyone can tell me is this a fathead beer or beer boulder?? Or are they one in the same!
