This beer impressed me when I poured it, with the beautiful red color and rich head. It impressed me when I smelled it. However when I tasted it, or lack there of, I was not so impressed. I would go as far as to say that a Budwiser has more flavor than this beer. It had a non-existant finish, and as after taste that I could only get rid of with a shot of forty year old whiskey.

I ended up trying the poter and pale ale after and the review would read the same. Boulder is a line of beers not worth you time, steer clear.

Not a bad amber ale. Pours the color of its name..small head, some lacing. Smell is light, floral hop notes present. Taste is lightly tart...mainly hops, light malt notes. Mouthfeel is pleasant...slightly dry. Easy enough on the drinkability scale. Not spectacular, but a good light brew.

Pours a clear medium reddish-amber with a small, off-white, milky head that quickly diminishes to a thin film. Aromas of biscuit, grass, citrus and milk chocolate stand out the most in this fairly mellow nose. The taste is a bit larger than expected. Rather floral up front, turning to a dominant bready, caramel malt. A light citrus bitterness sneaks in on the finish. It had a medium body, creamy texture and moderate carbonation. There was nothing that impressive about the smell or flavor, but it’s very smooth and very easy-drinking. Highly sessionable.

Appearance is a dark reddish brown with nice foam and lace. Aroma has floral hops, but a lot of sweet malt. Body is medium. Initial taste is the same proportion of bitter hops and doughy malt, but the finish is nicely dry. Nothing special about this beer – a typical American Amber Ale.

Pours a beautiful red beer, it's not really amber in color.

Smell is sweet and malty with a mild hop smell present.

Taste is sweet with a clear chocolate flavor from deeply roasted barley. Mildly bitter but this is a malt beer and not a hop beer. There is clean citrus hop aftertaste to this though.

Mouthfeel is good.

A tasty pleasant and mild brew.

The Sundance Amber pours a copper color with an off-white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

It's aroma is toasted malt and caramel.

The flavor is sweet starchy malt and some toasted caramel. It is medium bodied and highly carbonated. It has kind of a metallic aftertaste and a slight bitter finish.

This is very similar to the Singletrack. This is a little fuller bodied. It doesn't have the hops of the Singletrack. Still a pretty pedestrian brew.

Pours with a off-white two-fingered head that fades and leaves a lot lace. Clear amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Some hops, no sweetness, typical of a pale finishes with a slight bitter aftertaste. $1.35 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, Ma.

During a substantial layover in DIA, my wife and I ventured about for some beer. Luckily we ventured beyond the nearest sports bar to find a place with some locals on tap. I ordered the Boulder Amber Ale.

The mighty pint (easily a 20oz in a standard pint glass) made my hands feel like they had shrunk during our travel. The frothy white head flagged the beers readiness. Clarity of the beer was nice, and the deep amber ale almost glowed in the glass.

The aroma was dominated by pale and amber malt smells. There was almost a grain silo smell to the beer, which was a welcome change from the people silo smell of airplanes. A faint old world hop aroma also followed the malt smells.

The taste is a very tightly run ship. Its dry, crisp, and slightly sweet. The malt contributes the most to flavoring offering that same chaffy dryness with just a slight crisp being added by the hops. Its a somewhat mild flavor, but an easy drink, and a nice compliment to food.

Clear pale copper color with a whitish glue-like head of average duration. Little lace to speak of. Lightly malty nose, average baked bread aroma with barely discernible hoppiness. Average in the malt category, slight shortbread impression, some doughiness, but with a hoppy snap mid mouth to close and drying the finish. A little too much astringency late in the profile. Light body overall. Drinkable, but unremarkable.

Solid amber color, thin ivory head, fades to a ring and some stringy lace. Smell is mostly sweet caramel malts with a little bit of dark and dull oranges. Taste is alot of malts, sweet, smooth, a bit light and fruity, very slight roastyness, short lived and a bit weakened. Very lightish body, smooth but empty, but not watery, just there kinda. Not much to it, solid in a couple aspects, lacks in the most important aspect, taste.

Pours an obvious amber color with a tiny lacy head. Initial smell is of toast and malt. Taste is also of toast and a bit nutty. This is a light bodied beer, quite difficult to figure out, the feel is of fresh bread with a touch of citrus left on the palate; the aftertaste is a bit odd, leaving me yearning for some fresh bread. Right across the board, an average beer, regardless of the style.

Darkish reddish-orange, translucent, limited off-white head, adequate retention, poor lacing. The nose is mainly toasted, light malt with a hint of floral and citrus hops. Surprisingly malty taste for an Amber Ale, faint bitterness at the back, some sweetness, a hint of citrus, somewhat dry finish. Weak carbonation. Drinkable? Yes… it has “session beer” written all over it, plenty complex too. A good example of the style.

The beer pours an opaque amber color with a meaningful head and the lace derived is a decent clinging sheet. Mostly malt in the nose, lightly sweet and passable, sweet at the start with a skimpy top with the finish biting in its acidity, the hops apropos for the style, dry aftertaste. Drinkable beer, average at best as our most of the beers from this brewery and I think fine session beers which not anything to “Sneeze at.

This brew pours into an orange color with a light lacy thin head. The aroma is a bit nutty with just a hint of sweet malt. The flavor consists of a light sweet malt taste with a quick flush of vanilla. The bitterness is loose, lingering and mellow. A nice body tops off a complex tasty ale.

Deep amber golden color with a modest off-white head which soon fades to a paper-thin layer, some lace. Aroma of toasted malts and freshly baked bread, mild hops also. Taste begins with lightly toasted malt, followed by strong hops, finishes with a mild toffee sweetness from the residual of the malt flavors.

(This can't the same beer as the Rockies Fallfest amber.) The slightly off white and sticky head tops a very clear bronze hued brew. Light, leafy and mildly floral Goldings and Willamette hop nose. A slight hint of biscuit malt is perceptible, and a mellow pleasant fruitiness is there as well. Lightly bodied, while the mouthfeel is almost watery. The mild hop bitterness is offset by clean a light caramel malt sweetness. Clean but uninteresting in flavor. Finishes with a fading sweetness. Nothing special in this brew-- it's your run of the mill amber ale.
