12 oz. Bottle
Pours a pretty nice dark brown color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice one-finger light tan head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some chocolate/toffee, slight vanilla, nutty. The taste is malty, chocolate/toffee, nutty, with some vanilla. Medlium body. Overall, a nice little brew.

Brown pour, looks equal parts brown ale and porter, this is on the thinner side, less than half an inch of off white head. Aroma was mildly roasted, not much else.
Taste came in as suspected, brown malt, chocolate malt, minimal bitterness, not much mouthfeel, something a little bigger than a brown ale, a little smaller than a porter. It did allow the flavor to come through in the mouthfeel somewhat nicely, but this is a very much gateway kind of porter for the person thinking about upgrading from Newcastle.
Average.

This beer is about a year past its date.
Toffee, deeply caramelized malt, toffee, and molasses dominate the aroma. There's a touch of chocolate and roast malt, along with dark fruit, but the buttery toffee dominates. Flavor reveals that fruity malt/acrid character at the base, with a lightly roasted, lightly bitter finish. Nutty malt dominates the flavor. A little heavy on toast and lacking in chocolate, but a very approachable brew.
