The fourth beer tasted at the Oakdale Arms' Easter Beer Festival, 17/04/06. Served on a handpump. The beer is said to be Milton's 500th brew~~
A: clear, yellowish straw colour, coming with little sign of beer head and a low carbonated body.
S: pronounced malty aroma with a faint touches of syrup and honey... some soapy and even metallic notes stay underneath, implying that the beer is not well kept? I don't know, but the aroma lacks at least the liveliness a fresh real ale should have.
T: sour-sweet malty with a metallic touch at the back and a strange washing-up liquid like artificial fruitiness... a little bitterness is left at the back with a faint hint of hops. Finished with a slightly clashing mouthfeel b/w the teeth.
M&D: very thin-bodied and static on the texture, as if the natural CO2 was all gone... The 500th beer, if it really should taste like this rather than being handled improperly, is not a remarkable experiment to say the least.
