(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer has a black body with a light tan head that soon fades. I didn't realize it was on Nitro until I saw the bartender pour another one. It didn't have the magical show that I expect with the NO2 pour.
S- This beer has a pretty light aroma but notes of smoked malt and dark roasted malt come through. They get a bit strong as the beer warms which is nice.
T- The taste of dark malt has a alder smoke earthy quality that is almost salty in the finish. There is a slight sourness in the finish of the beer that adds more depth to the flavor. There is a nice dry black patent malt flavor that hangs on the tongue after each sip.
M- This beer had a medium-light mouthfeel with a faint watery note that I found a bit surprising.
D- This was quite a nice gem that I was not expecting. The malt flavors were nice and dark with a good rauchbier characteristic with the smoke. The smoke flavor was not overpowering but just enhanced the malt.
