Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.
While discussing this beer with the bartender, he told me the brewmaster here harvested the honey used herein himself. Nice. It pours a mostly clear golden amber topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises orange zest, coriander, sweet caramel, clove, nutmeg, and banana. A touch of breadiness tries to creep in at times, but never makes it very far in the door. The taste holds notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, clove, light black pepper, banana, honey, orange rind, light pine needles, very light mint, and honeydew. The body is a light medium, with a moderate carbonation and a fairly dry finish. Overall, a pretty solid tripel, one that I think benefits from the lightening quality of the honey. Good times.
