I wasn't impressed by this one. The beer seems to have changed a bit since its last reviews.
A: Deep brown color has a ruby tint to it. Small tan head leaves nice lace. Best part of the beer for me.
S: Heavy dark chocolate notes with a bit of espresso.
T: Tastes like someone made a nice stout and then cut it with water before serving. Chocolate sweetness dominates up front. Bits of coffee and a burnt bitterness push through the middle. Finishes clean for a stout. Flavors play second to the beer's general watery character
M: Super light body is extremely thin and has minimal carbonation.
D: This could be a decent session beer if it had better execution. Not my favorite take on the style.

I'm not sure if this was on nitro tap or not. The beer itself is not listed as such on the menu. However, the menu also states that all beers are available to take home in a keg except for the stout because of the nitro. It did seem to have some extra gas in it but not as much as most nitro stouts that I have tasted. Very nice chocolate brown color with a good hint of coffee and molassas on the nose. The taste had hints of chocolate and molassas as well but I would agree with the other reviewers that it was a bit on the bitter side. I would have liked it to be a touch creamier, but all and all a very enjoyable stout

Tasted at Rosie's Brewpub, Leadville, CO. "12 malts plus oatmeal"
Pours a dark rish chocolate brown with very nice foamy head and lacing all the way down the glass as I drink.
Impressive, complex aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Creamy mouthfeel. The flavor backs up what the nose promised, a nicely rish and complex stout with a kaleidoscope of roasted malt and dark cocoa/coffee flavors, long crisply bitter finish. Low ABV makes it a great session beer, would be perfect in the winter by the fire. My favorite of Rosie's offerings.

The most popular brew, according to the staff. A chewy, unsweetened chocolate and coffee stout. The appearance is opaque black with a very decent coffee colored head. Aroma is of coffee and vanilla that follows through into the initial taste - very complex. But, again, needs just a touch more sweetness this is a bitter stout! Mouthfeel is good due to enough carbonation, and the finish is bitter and dry.
