On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of earthy and herbal hops, a hint of citrus. Soft mouthfeel. Lovely and "typically English" flavour of earthy hops, medium dry and crisp, with just enough citrus to make it very drinkable. Extremely moreish - a "four pints is not enough" beer.

Bottle shared at August THT. Clear yellow with a thin white head. Notes of citrus and tropical fruit, honey. Not bad, could have been a bit too warm when sampled.

On tap at Brewdock, Dublin.
Blonde with a white collar. 3.75
Perfumed nose with slight grain. 3.5
Proofing dough then rosewater and spice hops. 3.5
Sandalwood end and prickly linger.
Lt-med, slight chew, fizzy. 3.5

So I naively thought this was a single hop Eroica beer. In actual fact the name is a bicycle race, and the beer is a lame pale ale with Challenger, Fuggles and Bramling Cross. Aromatic but cloying, and a bit thin; ultimately forgettable. 3.5

Label says L'Eroica Britannia is a 3 day long bicycle ride and festival, and this beer is brewed especially for this occasion.
Pours clear golden, two finger white head with great retention, lots of fizzy strings.
Smell of grapefruit and caramel biscuits from a distance, closer in you get a clearer English hop character, nice grains, fairly traditional.
Taste of grainy biscuits with grassy hops, faint tangerines, lemon, citrus peel, pepper, apple, touch of salt. There's a certain earthiness, some faint wood notes and some aromatic herbs. Finish of typical English hops, dry grassy, leafy, with faint hints of chewing tobacco, dominating the aftertaste with a bit of citrus.
Light bodied, well carbonated, perfect for the summer and i guess you could drink this while doing the L'Eroica Britannia to really get into the right atmosphere.
