Key keg. Hazy light amber. Thin dense head.
Smells similar to standard Jaipur with extra fruitiness.
Thick cut orange marmalade in flavour. Bitter indeed. Alcohol noticeable.
Soft carbonated feel close to cask. Key keg has worked well in this case.
Nice to try. I far prefer the original.

De Decervecitas. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 5. Se nota el alcohol pero no llega a molestar gracias a la riqueza de sabores afrutados proporcionados por el lupulo, citrico y algo resinoso

From a 330ml bottle.
L: Very hazy, dark yellow colour with a rich, white head that lasts forever and leaves rings of lacing.
S: Heavy tropical fruit aroma.
T: Unctuous, dense marmalade, barleysugar and overripe pineapple.
F: Rich, oily mouthfeel with a tingle of carbonation and a long, very dry finish.
O: A sticky 10% ABV version of Jaipur. Offers itself as a thick blanket of tropicana but becomes sickly by the end. Prefer the zing of the original.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2017. Purchased recently from the brewery's online store. The label describes it as an imperial IPA with an insane hopping rate of 15g/L; hopped with Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Columbus and Simcoe. Unfiltered and unfined (hence the short BBD). Jaipur's big brother....
A: Poured into an IPA glass. A bright, hazy golden hue with suspended sediment and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of intense fruity hops with hints of citrus, peel, vague tropical fruit, melon, grass/hay, grainy malt, mild barley sugar, ale yeast and a whiff of booze in the background. Pretty good but a tad hot.
T: Tastes of overwhelmingly aromatic hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus, peel, tropical fruit, melon, berries, grass/hay, grainy malt, barley sugar, ale yeast, a touch of leafiness and more than a hint of alcohol in the background. A powerful hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with prickly carbonation and great body. Hop oils stimulate the palate. Seriously astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, citrus, tropical fruit, grainy malt and yeast.
O: An excellent imperial IPA, even if the booze is rather evident. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are intensely hoppy. Lovely body. Not a session brew but goes down readily all the same; a hop-head's delight. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.

Luckily, there was nothing wrong with the taste.

Pours gold with a smallish head that leaves just a few spots of lacing. Nose is a bit earthy and a bit citrus/orange. Not a big nose for a IIPA. Flavor has a pleasant rounded bitterness along with some of the marmalade notes others have mentioned. Honestly it is a decent beer, bit I was hoping for more from this.

Bottled
The Jaipur X was what I expected
a bit of a let down
Thornbridge do some world class cask
But this is bottled and their bottles are barely adequate
Especially considering the strength and the cost and the hype
This is more than twice the price of SN Torpedo or Brewdog Hardcore
But this isn't terrible but at 10% and all the hops it would be more impressive to make a genuinely bad ale rather than a slightly dull one
More marmalade than grapefruit

A: Golden body, very clear.
T: Incredibly earthy with orange marmalade. Very bitter, not overbearing. Quite a lagery mouthfeel, like the regular Jaipur. Not a lot of backbone. No syrup quality.
O: First few gulps were delicious but it got boring pretty quickly. Absolutely does not feel like a 10% beer. Drinks like something half its weight.

Riding on the curtails of Jaipur IPA, the Thornbridge revisits this acclaimed recipe in celebration of their tenth year in existence. Scaling the ale proportionately to imperial status ensures that more of what's liked in the original is magnified exponentially.
Light golden and hazy, the ale is brightly straw-like about its margins. As a creamy, fluffy and cottony white head mounts on top, the beer's potpourri begins to entice the nose. Lemon, honey and pineapple frame the first impressions while its initial taste is candied, jammy and woven together with the starchy sweetness of biscuit malt.
Powerful hop flavors begin to unfold across the middle as the underlayment of honey and juicy fruit sweetness remain firm. The bitter-sweet tandem works to provide a branch-ripened, vibrant and plump fruit bouquet on the palate. Pineapple, orange, grapefruit, gooseberry and lemon morph gradually into a leafy, woodsy, spicy balsa-like broad bitterness late in the session.
The beer's reluctance to realize any absolute dryness renders its body medium-full and creamy. Alcohol spice tethers together with hop bitterness for a perfumy solvent and peppery bite. Its residual sweetness continues to buffer against the beer's stemmy, leafy and sappy pine bitterness in finish with an aftertaste of lemon marmalade.
