A 4.5% Hazy Raspberry Sour – For those that remember Tulameen, this is a newer version with more raspberries than ever! For those that didn’t know Florida Weisse is a style from over in America! This is a great sour, lip puckering and refreshing!

Sample from can at the Thornbridge tasting, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Rosé to red colour, small pinkish head. Distinct aroma of raspberry drops / candy. The flavour is fresher, notes of raspberries and lactic acid, quite sour, one-dimensional.

33cl can, bb already gone I now see..

The colour of light raspberry, hazy, matte. Foam surprisingly substantial, dissipates eventually. Aroma of fresh raspberries, no sweetness and an edge of sharpness.

Taste has a mass of fruit, tart and dry, with the appropriate milky smoothness to the mouthfeel.

A good example of the style. Does have the problem that you can really describe this with one word, and one word only: raspberries. Something else would be needed for enough complexity.

Pours a slightly cloudy, dark ruby coloration with a small, fizzy head that quickly fades to nothing. Smells of sweet and tart raspberries, with just a hint of citric acidity. Taste follows the nose, with a nice balance of sweet and tart raspberry notes and an an accompanying citric/lacto acidity. Finishes with a medium tartness and acidity, as well as some raspberry lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth smouthfeel with a light/medium body and carbonation.

Not a Bewrliner Weiße, but a perfectly enjoyable fruited Kettle Sour that really seems to suffer from too many rating by people that just don't like Sours. While it may lack some depth, it really doesn't feel too artificial and boasts a rather nice balance of sweet, tart and acidic notes. A rather nice, refreshing summer beer, actually.

Some negative reviews so far from beer enthusiasts who just don’t like sours. For the record, I do like sours but I’m not so keen on fruit beers. So who knows how this is going to pan out.

L: Vivid red colour. Looks artificial. Massive, pink head collapses quickly.
S: Strong aroma of raspberry, red currant and cherry (ho hum).
T: Overwhelming flavour of sour cherries (not so good). Very tart (good).
F: Light & dry with a nice foaming mouthfeel (good).

Marked up for being refreshingly tart. Nicely mouth-puckering. Marked down for looking & tasting artificial. The ingredients list doesn’t even mention raspberries. Is the fruit added in the form of a syrup?

(Note: just read up on ‘Floridaweisse’ beer style. This example from Thornbridge is true to the style. Summarised as “controversial”. Yep)

Hazy Raspberry sour.
Looks incredible (bright pink), at least something a bit different. Hint of raspberry. Carbonation and mouth feel spot on. Taste - sour. Overall - the most enjoyable sour I've had, just not for the flavour.

330ml Can from Tesco:
Quite a sour & tangy beer as promised on the can, there was plenty of raspberries coming through & it was quite a funky but drinkable beer. It's not exactly a style of beer that I have all that often but this one is probably the best I've tried.

Canned in a crafty craft can, don't know if this has ever been sold bottled though.
Pours a cloudy raspberry fruit liquidised flesh body, cloudy, beneath decent enough white head.
sour fruit aroma.
The flavour is like sour jelly sweet absorbed into a vinegar.
A very sour fruit sour.

I bought this today in Tesco West London. Canned 2 Oct 2018 BBE: 02 Apr 2019. The can describes it as a 'Hazy raspberry sour'. This feels like a bit of chalk or cheese, I could like it or....
L- OMG, well it's not a 'hint of pink', this thing is verging on dayglo, and the hazy comes over as milky. Pours with paler dayglo pink head that swiftly goes to lacing, then later nothing.
S- Rather musty raspberry odour, I don't get anything beery from it.
T- Sour.... oh heavens this is sour! It's as sour as drinking unsweetened diluted lemon juice. Savage. I still don't get anything beer-like from this at all.
F- Mouth-puckeringly sour, sharp
O- What I feared has come to pass, I don't see the point of this. It's like a fruit squash/cordial with nothing resembling beer about it. 'It's n odd 'un for sure, as I've had some solid creative beers from Thornbridge. I'd love to know the demographic that seeks out beers like this as it's a mystery to me.
