Copenhagen 27/11 2020. 33 cl bottle from Kvickly, Østergade, Middelfart. Cream colored label with gold ornaments. They call it a “Ice Cream Porter”.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small off-white head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet odor of dark malts mingling with a light tart sourness. Brown sugar, prunes, plums. Touch of cinnamon. Sour grains.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is moderately intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by light sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish and lingers shortly. Finish is thin.
Very much on the thin side. A bit disappointing for a Ice Cream Stout - a classification that promises gravity, sweetness and intensity.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, large tan head. Strong aroma of dried, candied and stewed fruit peel (particularly orange), also Christmas spices. The flavour is not too sweet, moderately roasted, and has moderate notes of Christmas pudding. Pleasant and easy drinking.
