Braybrooke and Thornbridge share at least two things in common: we’re both situated in glorious countryside and we both love making lagers. Together, we brewed Constance, our take on a classic Bavarian Pilsner. This golden yellow lager is made with our soft water, all Bavarian Pilsner malt and the noble hop varieties of Tettnanger and Hallertauer Tradition, sourced directly from a hop farm in Tettnang, Germany. Constance has undergone a long maturation to reveal a refined noble Pilsner, with a pronounced bitterness, floral hop aroma and a crisp, satisfying finish.
Hops: Tettnanger / Hallertau Tradition
Malts: 100% Bamberger Pilsner Malt

L- Somewhat pale gold, clear, pours with a 1Cm off-white head. Sufficient CO2 rising from the nucleated glass to keep the head sustained. [ps 10mins later, holds well].
S- Quite bright, subtle, ie it has a slightly distinctive fresh or piquant smell but it's subtle enough I'm unable to name it.
T- It's quite hoppy-dry on the front into some balancing malts, before turning hoppy again into the finish. Hops-wise it's roughly on a par with Pilsener Urquell but the malts help take some of the hoppy impact down.
F- Nice and easy drinking on the dry lager end of things. CO2 is good in the mouth.
O- I was expecting and fearing that this might be a 'hipstered' Pils, ie given some bonkers flavour facets but it's not, it seems straight down the line to me. Pleasant enough but quite pedestrian too, there's not enough here for me to pay anything like £3.69 for it again. #1860.
440ml can, BB: 10/02/2022 bought from Wholefoods, London W8 back in April.

L: Clear and golden with many streams of bubbles and a thick, persistent, foaming head that leaves plenty of lacing.
S: Clean and grassy.
T&F: Rich and smooth malt with spicy noble hops. Moderate bitterness.
O: An enjoyable pilsener-style lager from England. Lots of malt character, plenty refreshing and nicely dry.
