Grand Purposes is inspired by Ethel Haythornthwaite, a Sheffield based environmentalist who helped establish the Peak District National Park. Our brewers, Alice and Laura, are passionate about the Peak District and wanted to pay tribute to the work Ethel did. The beer is a fantastically balanced Ruby Mild with flavours of caramel, nuts and candied fruits throughout.

From cask at The City Arms in Manchester. Not too often I drink a mild ale. A small, cozy pub with lots of draft and cask options. Nutty, smooth, balanced with a pleasant hop bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking, rich yet not filling. Great stuff.
