Named after the famous cocktail, Between the Sheets started as a bold double stout which we knew would be perfect for barrel ageing and the chance to experiment. We aged half in Caribbean Rum barrels and half in Cognac barrels for 9 months before blending back together. This has created a wonderfully unique beer, with the characters of both spirits pleasantly intertwining with notes of dried fruit, muscovado sugar and
oak

Hops: Willamette, Tradition, Sorachi Ace.
Malts: Low Colour Maris Otter, Wheat, Chocolate, Beechwood smoked, Dark Crystal, Roasted Barley.

Bottle conditioned. Black with a light tan and creamy head.
The fruity rum arrives immediately on the nose reminding me of my own infused Christmas cake.
The flavour is a diminished version of the smell with a lightly charred bitterness. Some quercus present.
Creamy smooth feel with light carbonation.
BA stouts are not my thing. This is good.
