A: A black, thick, opaque, syrupy pour with a dense, mocha-tan creamy head. The retention is long.
S: Honey, heather, burnt malt, and whiskey.
T: Honey sweetness, rich burned malt notes, bitter hops especially in finish.
M: Smooth, syrupy, slick feel. Full bodied with nice alcohol warmth in end.
This was an expensive beer but totally worth the money. The honey and heather notes made it very unique and complex. Must try!

A: Black body, chunkiest head I've ever seen on a beer. It's mocha coloured and leaves a splodgey lacing around the glass.
S: Road tar, chocolate.
T: Predominantly a tar-like, leathery, bitter flavour balanced by the right amount of sweetness. Some citrus in the aftertaste which I think may be from the hops. Weirdly I'm getting some lavender, which I guess may be the heather honey. While not terribly smokey there's something of a woody quality, like wood that is burning on a bonfire and a bit of mudiness with it (no, really!). Has a dry finish. Looking at the lengthy bottle description, I didn't get raisins or liquorice but pretty much everything else.
M: Fairly light for a RIS, not at all like engine oil. Slightly sticky.
O: Inspirational. You know you've had something good when you feel like telling the world that you love beer. Still, not my favourite Russian Imperial Stout and it could maybe do with more chocolate or more hoppy fruit to complement the tar-like quality, but it knocks several shades of shit out of Old Rasputin.

Black currant, black malt, dates, some red berry and a bitter chocolate end.
Heather honey finish and liquorice linger.
Full, chewy, round.
Made with heather honey, aged in three different barrels; New French Oak, Pedro Ximenez Sherry and Red Bordeaux and conditioned with champagne yeast.
Honey is surprisingly present. Oak is there, with some winey fruit notes. Doesn't overdo the roast.
