Golden Ale is one of the better beers at Laughing H2O. It has a clear off sunny yellow color with a fluffy white head. Decent lacing but both foam and lacing dont last though the whole tasting.
The smell is noticeable not really pronounced. Mostly the aroma consists of basic malts smells, such as two row. There is a citrus note as well that follows the aroma of lemon zest more than anything.
The taste is more pronounced in the malt flavor. A good malt base that has a rough basic taste but is good beer flavor. There is a bite at the top from some bittering hops that has a light piney taste. Blended well with the flavoring hops which as a citrus finish to the beer.
The texture and body is light and crisp. Also there is a slight soapy taste which is more noticeable in some of the other Laughing H2O beers, but only slight in Golden Ale. It deters the crisp finish. Overall, Golden Ale is the one beer I would suggest to try if you visit Mad Rock.
