Sampled on location at Mad Rock. Greatful Red pours a amber color with strong red and light brown hues. Good head and lacing.
The smell is not really existent. Some lighter basic malts are very faint.
The taste is strong in malt. Mostly basic malt but good hints of caramel and lighter notes of vienna are present. The hops are limited but a decent bitterness is felt up top. More of a citrus kick but there are hints of an earthy presence in the background as well.
One thing that I notice about Laughing H2Os beers are that they have a somewhat chalky taste. This is most evident in the Greatful Red. There is a chalky taste that leaves a somewhat slimy film in your mouth. Its not overwhelming but still noticeable.
Overall Greatful Red is not all that great.
