From notes taken at the brewpub. My first altbier. The appearance is dark brown with a lightly creamy head. The aroma isn't strong, a light malt smell is noted alongside an even lighter hop presence. Taste is of dark malts with a fairly strong hop finish. This reminds me a lot of a brown ale, except that this beer has a citrusy hop taste too. Really enjoyable, really drinkable.
