This is a medium-bodied dark and vinous ale, similar to the style of "old" traditional ales that the British pubs have been making for centuries. Toffee and roast malt in the mouth, with a deep bitter finish.

Pours to a creamy white head and and copper color. Aroma is smooth creamy malt with a nice earthy floral hop note. Flavor is a strong hit of malt, some fruit notes, yeast spice (think Belgian) and a resiny bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium, low co2. Overall a very well made old ale that reminds me of my favorite winter warmers.
P.S. their "old ale" goes by the name Fat Old Bastard these days.
