Bottle. Clear amber. Billowy white head.
Smells of earthy hops a mild barley wort both of which continue into the taste.
Middling carbonation, body and bitterness.
Quite distinct from the standard TF.

Pours a frothy foamy almost 2 finger head with good retention, fair lacing, clear deep golden to amber color
Nose sweet golden malt, hint of buttery diacetyl I think but expected for the style, cereal, little crusted sourdough bread, light herbal hops
Taste brings fair sweet golden malt again, fresh baked sourdough bread, cereal, straw, hint fruity note in the background, fair herbal floral hop bitterness, turning to a bit spicy on the dry finish that gets med-high bitterness
Mouth is med bod, a bit soft and touch creamy, med carb
Overall nice beer

L- Quite a dark gold colour, clear, pours with 5mm white head (holds v well) and later forms lacing down sides).
S- Mild, just some gentle bread and toasting.
T- A good balanced flavour, quite a meaty middle for 5.0%, with a gently dry edge into the finish. That risks sounding 'unexciting', but for me that's a plus, I don't want drama, I want a grown-up balance of facets. There is nothing out of place/balance in this beer that I can ID.
F- It's refreshing (served chilled from fridge), and I'm enjoying this. For me this would be very sessionable, it's interesting enough to hold the attention of my palate.
O- I like it, and I'd happily drink it again. IMHO it's more towards the trad/ale end of the spectrum, there are no OTT modern hops barging in and wrecking the balance.
500ml bottle BBE: June-2020. Bought for me by a friend in Brighton, Waitrose I believe. At first I saw the Tangle Foot lable and thought I'd had it before, but seems I haven't and this 'Traditional Golden Ale 5.0%' is a new listing. I googled 'Golden ale style' and the closest category available here was American Blond Ale, hence that's what is in the Description at the top.
