This easy drinking fruity beer is brewed using traditional British hop varieties of Goldings and WGV (Whitbread Goldings Variety) to give an understated noble character. This allows the fruity fig notes to give a lasting, delicious mouthfeel. A great beer to enjoy alongside honey glazed sausages.

500mL bottle. BBE 11/2026.
Appearance: 3. Clear dark amber with lots of short-lasting fizz and minimal head.
Smell: 4. Raisins and dried figs, white wine, sandalwood, cinnamon and allspice.
Taste: 2.5. Toasted malts, sweet artificial-tasting fig, mild hop bitterness.
Feel: 1.5. Decent body. Very strange mouth-numbing finish. Initially high carbonation, but after a few sips turns to low carbonation.
Overall: 2.5. What was likely a nice amber beer has been combined with artificial-tasting fig flavouring and a strange numbing chemical finish. Would not recommend.

500ml brown glass bottle.
L: Clear, red mahogany colour with one finger of short-lived, off-white foam.
S: Red cherries.
T: Strawberry, blackcurrant & fig. Very dry.
F: A hint of richness is lost beneath the astringent bitterness.
O: Brewed for Sainsbury’s Supermarket’s ‘taste the difference’ range. A low abv winter warmer. Extra fruity, extra malty, extra dry. Mouthfeel is disappointingly light for the style.

Bottle. Previously brewed by Eagle.
Clear mid amber. Thick frothy and billowy head.
An hedgerow fruit aroma. Blackberry, blueberry, pear and cider toffee apple.
A taste of orchard. More malt than the smell produced. Bitter finish.
Well carbonated. Medium body.
An appreciated imbibe during Storm Bert.
