Brewed for GABS festival in Melbourne, May 2014. Milk stout aged in port barrels. Tried at the festival.
Pours a dark coffee colour with tan head; webbed, retaining nicely though. Looks pretty nice.
Smells very sweet. Lots of residual malt sugars on there with a big twist of chocolate as well. Not bad.
Taste is also very sweet. Decent chocolate notes with a touch of vanilla early. Falttens out before a nice spicy finish, with a touch of licorice and pepper. Not bad but really, very sweet on the front.
Thin body, fairly flat. Uninteresting mouthfeel.
Bit sweet, and has a heavy edge to its sweetness that is almost medicinal. Nice enough but not really my thing.
