I hope to start adding and reviewing beers from Harvestmoon. It's really one of the best microbreweries in Japan. Also, I think the name should really be changed here on BA to just Harvestmoon Brewery. It's a much better than using a half romanized japanese, half english name. Besides that's the name they themselves use on their website, etc.
Anyway about the beer:
appearance - cloudy hay colored pour leaves about a half finger of off white head, which quickly dissipates leaving very little lacing.
smell - refreshing citrus notes which aren't that strong, banana also is noticeable. a little bit weak on the nose however.
taste - the first thing that hits your tongue is strong sweet fruit. then the breadiness comes through. Very unique flavor for this style. I'm somewhat used to your standard citrus banana clove wheat surprise but this beer (despite the fact that the label states the usual orange peel and coriander)
brings some new (and really refreshing) flavors to the style.
mouthfeel - carbonation is about average, a very light mouthfeel
drinkability - it goes down really nice. super refreshing. i could drink a lot of these, and at 4.5% it's a perfect session beer. great on a hot summer day.
If you're going to Tokyo Disneyland/ Disney Sea you can't miss trying some beers from this brewery. Real quality stuff.
Highly recommended.
