March 2014: 500 ml bottle, a gift from my beerpal Olav, thanks! ABV is 4.0%. Very pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Nice aroma of grassy, herbal, spicy and fruity Styrian Goldings hops. Light bodied as expected, easy drinking. Distinctly spicy and hoppy dry flavour.

A - very pale for a bitter, clear with low carbonation and a head that shrinks to a tiny ring of fine bubbles.
S - sweet caramel with pine and grassy notes. I can faintly smell yeast (possibly from the conditioning).
T - strong biscuit and caramel, toffee, zesty fruit with a very delicate hop finish
M - light bodied with very low carbonation
O - nothing to write home about here. The flavours are typical of a standard english bitter, but it lacks any where near enough bitterness to offset the sweet flavours. Shame really because with a bit more hops it would be a decent pint.

Straw coloured body with full cover but only 1mm white headBig hop aroma, mouth watering gooseberry and citrus .

Very light on the palate subtle lemon warms quickly to hops and honey

Light mouthfeel and very low carbonation makes an easygoing really quaffable amiable but not terribly exciting beer

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden colour with a poor head, just few big bubbles. However, when I had this from cask at one of the Otley pubs, it poured with a thick creamy head, and this is the thirs different Otley beer I have had from bottle that has show a crappy head. Anyway, the carbonation is very light too.

Aroma: Intense fruity nose, with grapefruit, zesty lemon, creating a very sharp refreshing aroma.

Taste: Fruity like the nose, with lots of sharp lemon, and grapefruit. The hops offer a bitter edge to the fruitiness and give it a crisp taste.

Mouthfeel: The feel is light, if not slightly watery at times.

Drinkability: It was a big disappointment trying this from the bottle because it is so good from cask. I will definitely be re-reviewing when I have this again, and it will be cask.

Tasted by a half-pint at the GBBF 2008, served by a non-sparkler, swan-neck hand-pull.

A: pale golden in colour, coming with a very creamy and thick off-white head that sustains throughout the drink, on top of light carbonation - looking superb!
S: very intense grapefruity hop fragrance and clean malts are supported by flowery notes, a little butterscotch. Hoppy and dense, with a certain degree of balance still.
T: grapefruity and flowery hop flavour comes on top of a thin bed of very pale malts, rather simplistic thought nice; chewy and tannic bitter in the finish, like a well-hopped bitter. Something's missing here...
M&D: the palate tells me that the beer was "tired", by the time I got it, as the carbonation is almost totally lost, and the body of course comes rather thin, which is not that good when the aroma and foretaste are both absolutely rich and hoppy. I think a fresher condition of the cask version could put right the slightly dull performance of the flavour and provides a more balanced account. Gotta try this again!
