Appearance: Pitch black body with an almost none existent head, there are just a few large tan bubbles and that's it. The carbonation is minimal.
Aroma: Lots of smokey roasted malts, peaty whisky aromas, strong espresso and milky chocolate - really good nose.
Taste: The taste is quite mild, the roasted malts from the nose are still there, along with some hints of coffee but that is about it.
Mouthfeel: The feel is quite watery and thin, which is a shame. There is no hint of carbonation in the mouth and it has a slightly clingy feel.
Drinkability: Nothing special I'm afraid. The smell is great but that is all that stands out. Will probably try again but definitely on cask next time.
