500ml brown glass bottle with a green cap and a red label. A winged dragon encompassed by a wreath of gold and holley on the label and a dragon on the cap. It pours a murky, dark copper-brown with very little off-white bubbly head and very little lacing as well.
Smell is of sweet malt, brandy, caramel and toffee...rather intoxicating There is no ABV listed on the label but it smells pretty strong.
Taste is malty and fruity, with notes of raisins, prunes and tobacco. The description on the label states: "It is a robust, hoppy ale with lots of complexity. Enjoy!" The hops certainly don't stand out, they do however give this ale a good balance...a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but not bad.
Although a bit chewy in the mouth, the heavy body with the warming of the alcohol, make it pleasant and easy to consume.
Worth a try...oh yeah.
