L- A rich chestnut red-brown colour, clear, pours with 3mm just off-white head (holds up pretty well for a long time).
S- Mild, I just get some grains.
T- It's ale-like but on the dryer side of the spectrum and with a quite distinct nutty/toasty facet (that nutty note - and only that one note - reminded me of Newcastle Brown Ale).
F- As above, relatively hoppy-dry for an ale. That might make it a versatile year-round beer, as even at a relatively modest 4.2% the flavour is quite punchy.
O- I 'blind-tasted' this on my wife, no bottle/info/mention of the one other review already here. The first thing she said was 'it's quite nutty'. I hadn't tried it at that point, but now later agree/see her point. I also hadn't read the bottle's lable or below review which also IDs that facet with that word. So it seems likely that that element is something distinct with this one, and whether that works for you key to your enjoyment of it.
Bought for me from Wally's Beer Shop in Cardiff. 500ml £2.75 BBE: Jul-20
