This beer, as an imperial should be, is all about the hops. Hoppy nose comes at you from the get go and slowly gives way to some roasted coffee and sugary sweetness. Flavor tells the same story. Balance was quite good. I noted some nice chocolate flavors, subtle coffee, slight sweetness and some very subdued fruitiness. There was a lot going on in this beer, but due to the fact that I had just sat through a beer tasting my tastebuds were having trouble identifying all the flavors. A very well done brew by Tom.
