I poured a 22 oz bottle into a standard pint glass. This beer is slightly hazy, with a deep amber/reddish color. Head receded quickly, very little lacing. The smell is malty, and slightly sweet. I smell cranberry, pipe tobacco, and grain. The flavor is on the sweeter side as well. The malt is smooth and there are hints of hazelnuts and vanilla. It leaves a nice aftertaste. The mouthfeel is rich and warm. A very good winter ale in my opinion.

Very malty and smooth. Makes me miss portland.
