On-tap at the brewpub.
A: Pours a surprisingly dark caramel amber with a very dense and frothy off-white head that looked like melted ice cream and lasted the whole beer through.
S/T: Burnt caramel, toast, old hops and roasted malt. Much more caramely and roasted than expected. The finish had a dose of herbal and earthy bitter hops, but they just come off tasting old. Nose is much of the same. Old herbal hops, roast, and burnt sugars. Maybe brown sugar. Aftertaste is roasted and slightly nutty.
M: Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, tiny bubble carbonation. Mild bitterness.
O: Really not sure what's going on here. Very roasted, burnt, caramely and hop forward. A very malty pale. Nutty. Not really good.
