Tasted on-tap 06/04/07 at the Lucky Labrador Bewpub in Portland, OR.

Clear straw color with a decent white head and decent lace. A nice grainy and light hop aroma and flavor with no hint of adjuncts. A very nicely balanced beer. Light bodied and easy drinking.

A solid Blonde/Golden Ale for a brewpub...

Found this organic brew at the Laurelhurst Theater in Portland. The brwer's website claims 4.5% abv. It has a decent sized fluffy head which leaves little in the way of lacing and a very pale straw colour.

The smell was somewhere between rhubarb and dough, but nearer to the former than the latter. It has a very pleasant bitterness (good hops) and a slight metallic flavour, but there is very little malt influence. This is lighter than many ales with the golden tag which I have sampled.

Carbonation is good, but the finish is rather dry.

Appearance – This one came out of the tap a very light yellow in color with a smallish head.

Smell – This had a full-on grain aroma with a delicate hop balance.

Taste – The grain here is pleasant and sharp. This Golden Ale is not as wimpy as it looks.

Mouthfeel – This light-bodied ale is clean and crisp on the palate. It has some light carbonation and is somewhat refreshing.

Drinkability – This is one of the better Blonde Ales that I’ve had. There’s nothing fancy here but nothing offensive, either.
