Half pint at the Lucky Labrador on Capitol in Portland for a few dollars, consumed 5/28/09, reviewed from notes

A-Golden orange color, minimal 1/8 inch bubbly white head that goes away immediately, no lacing at all
S-Booze, pineapple, raw veggies including zucchini and broccoli oddly, lots of sweet malts, light clove, coriander, and
T-Starts off with a very sweet malt welcome, island fruits in the middle, not typical of a Belgian beer, booze in the finish are what you would expect from a more American-like strong ale but typical of this Belgian style, does not change much as it warms, already flat and sweet as it is, very hot with alcohol burning the tongue by the end, overly cloying for me overall, needs some more balance and Belgian yeast or something similar
M-Sweet, cloying, hot, and thick mouthfeel, thick full body, needs more carbonation, body did not seem to budge, taste lingered too long
D-Could not drink much more than seven or eight ounces I had of it, too boozy to really enjoy, overly sweet and flat as well, hard to get down

This beer was brewed in honor of the Cheers to Beligan Beers, not very Beglian-like to me, more sweet than anything, but the yeast was not true to style, and it tasted more alcoholic than it was, probably would skip next time, probably still worth trying
