Had it on draft and brought 2 bombers back to Az. Chatted with the maker Alex. This is a good mellow hop brew.

Had this in a 22 oz bomber purchased at the brewery in Portland, OR on 2010-02-04
A - Pours a hazy gold with a minimal tan head
S - Not much scent. Slight apple
T - A little bland. Mild grain, slightly sour and medium hop bitterness
M - Light with light to medium carbonation
D - Light enough to be easily drinkable but not all that interesting.

On tap at the Hawthorne location in SE Portland. Thanks to ramnuts for taking me out there!
A: Pours a translucent, orange copper with a finger of off-white head. It has great retention and leaves nice sheets of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: A tropical fruit bouquet: grapefruit, pineapple, passionfruit, mango. I'm sort of tempted to compare this to Sculpin, just on the hugely citrusy aroma. What a wonderful thing to smell.
T: The taste follows the aroma properly: boatloads of citrus, mostly in the tropical variety. Pineapple, passionfruit, mango are strongest. Grapefruit is an afterthought. There is a light floral flavor here as well. Almost no malt, except for some bread. The finish is quite dry. Personally, this is a tad too bitter.
M: Light-bodied, medium carbonation. Dry finish. A well-crafted brew.
D: I'm not enthusiastic about the bone-dry IPAs, as I enjoy a little bit of sweetness in the finish. I'd probably go with the Super Dog given the choice. I think there's just as much criticism to be made of an overbitter beer as there is to be made of an oversweet one.

On tap at the original SE Hawthorne location, 20 oz imperial pint.
Dull golden colored body. About half a finger of pure white head that mostly disappears fairly quickly, yet leaves a fair amount of crackly lace. A stream of visible carbonation coming up the middle.
Smell is pretty good, but restrained (damned nonic glasses really dull the aromas). Some citrus, some nice earthiness, a hint of bready malt.
Great tasting brew. Like the nose, but much more bold. The hops seem to be equal parts citrusy, tangy and earthy. Nice pungent earthy and bitter hop finish. Just enough bready and lightly sweet malt to give a bit of balance.
Medium body and carbonation. The sticky/earthy hops in the finish make for a nice mouthfeel.
Drinkability is excellent. This is a very nicely constructed IPA. Definitely recommended.

Clear golden-orange color with smallish white head that leaves some lace.
Smells like fruit salad. Very light malt presence with sweet smells of pineapple, mandarin orange, juicy red apple.
Tastes very similar to the nose. Sweet and tropically fruity. Very light pale malts dominated by floral and fruity hop bitterness that persists for a short time. Not overly bitter, but definitely hop-centric.
Easy light to medium bodied IPA with good amount of carbonation that stays soft and supremely drinkable.
