Another IPA from the Lab? Sure, why not. Single-hopped with Amarillo in this case. Half-pint on tap in a 10-ounce goblet. See-thru light amber with a white head that's modest in size, but retains impressively and leaves a fair amount of streaky lacing behind.
Nice fresh nose, with the hops- grapefruit, orange zest, some pine- on full display. Malt detectable as toasty aromatic hints only. This sets the stage pretty accurately for how it tastes. Not exceedingly bitter, but it IS exceedingly dry, a perfect setup for showcasing the Amarillo hop flavors. Loads of fresh grapefruit and orange. Hints of pine and that dry, toasted malt profile are no small contributors to the very sticky, somewhat gritty finish. Nicely done single-hop IPA.
