2d review. 1st from brewer. amazing. Simple, tea like, Japanese elegance.
a) Mostly clear reddish amber body with soft, limp head. Low carb.
s) Classic, old school, clean, crisp, apple-fall fruit, orchard earthy autumnal aromas.
t) Follows the smell, but rich. A bit of wooden bilge.
f) Low carb, clean, fall cider, tea-like body.
o) Original, great food beer. (with Rocky's Pizza near the E 35 Ferry)

A: Pours a hazy deep honey burnt orange in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and faint reddish copper highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a medium sized half finger thick cap towards the center of the glass surrounded by a large patch of medium thick film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted + caramel malts with minimal amounts of sweetness underneath slightly stronger than moderate aromas of earthy + spicy hops.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of toasted, caramel, and very lightly roasted malts with a minimal amount of caramel sweetness present. That is followed by moderate flavors of earthy + spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Enjoyable and easy to drink with fairly classic English Pale Ale aromas + flavors. Alcohol is well hidden and I'm pretty pleased my wife brought me this back from Japan.
