Format: a standard 330mL brown bottle with a decent label per the Gage Roads norm.
Appearance: I had this shortly after their Single Fin, and I have to say it looks pretty damn similar. Clear amber-orange in body with that medium carbonation. The only difference is that the head is a bit higher and hangs about a bit longer.
Aroma: again, the tropical fruits and sweet biscuit malts behind. Double-checked the label to confirm this is definitely the Break Water, and I didn't pick up the Single Fin by mistake.
Taste: lighter in flavour than the aroma, with more of a earth malt flavour than the fruit hops.
Aftertaste: fades away pretty quickly. Not amazing.
Mouth feel: light to medium in body with medium carbonation. Perhaps some more carbonation could carry the flavour through a bit better.
Overall: not the most brilliant beer from Gage Roads. It seems as though they used very similar ingredients as the Single Fin Summer Ale, just not as well done. Definitely not worth the AU$57 a case of 24 x 330mL price tag. Not an earth-shaker.

330ml bottle. BB Oct 2015. Poured into a tulip glass. Unfiltered pale ale apparently.
A - pours a thin white head that dissapears quickly - very poor retention. Golden, almost transparent - very little evidence of sediment.
S - sweet, bready malt aroma with a worrying corn like smell,. Noted some citrus and tropical fruits (peach, mango), put not overpowering.
T - nothing much here. Some cereal malts up front, a tangy bitterness in the middle that goes as quick as it comes, and a bland cardboard and grassy hops flavour at the finish.
M - slightly grainy texture, moderate carbonation, medium bodied.
O - slightly better than the standard adjunct aussie lagers, this beer does quench the thirst. But it is definitely a rung or two below other aussie craft beers (even not up to a James Squire 150 lashes). Why? Its just too bland.
