Tried at GABS 2013. Entered this review much later, as will all of my GABS reviews be.
Pours a brown colour, slightly cloudy with beige, foamy head. Retains OK. Looks quite nice.
Smell is oaky, with vanilla notes. Touch of dark caramel and cinnamon. Bit of dry, but sweet spice. Pleasant.
Taste is mildly chocolatey, with a slight hint of licorice and cinnamon. Oak is again dominant with vanilla notes. Pleasant, but maybe a little boozey-warm.
Decent body, slight tingle of carbonation, noticeable alcohol but not hot.
Very nice American style beer.

This is actually their GABS release an imperial black IPA aged on rum oak barrels and I got it on growler wow and pours a nice looking mahogany hue with a rather creamy two finger head that stays all say long with some nice lacing too,the smell has definitely got some nice oak rum notes along with some fruit salad and dark malts I must say I'm rather impressed, the mouthfeel is nearly spot on its just under full bodied with some moderate carbonation and wow it's quite a tasty drop with that oak rum firstly and for someone who hates rum this is a massive call but that big black IPA is not too far away with a big herbal hoppy bitterness mixed with fruit salad some dark malts and finished with a mix of piney hop bitterness and warm rum, overall I'm very wowed with this from gage roads shows what they are capable of if not trying to please the masses please guys more of this stuff cheers.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
