I havent had the opportunity to sample many Maibocks, and definitely not enough after this experience at Elmar's.
Very fresh, with a white fluffy head and a pale golden colour. A slight maltly sweetness on the nose, which followed in the mouth with an unmistakable generous amount of munich malt to balance the higher alcohol level. Subtle hop presence (noble) and extremely smooth. No adverse twang whatsoever.
Hands down the best bottom fermented beer I have tasted from Australia. Just love bavarian brewing traditions.
$9.50 a pint is a bit more resonable for this higher gravity offering.
