On tap: pours a caramel colour, thin head after pour. Taste is sweet, almost like Juicy Fruit in beer form. Good for the style, not as heavy as a doppelbock but still hits the spot.

November 2007: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.6%. Contract brewed for Weltenburger Kloster by Brauerei Bischofshof in Regensburg. Crystal clear and very pale golden colour, huge and lasting white head. Moderate sweetish aroma of flowers and honey. Smooth and soft flavour of pilsener malts, moderate fruity and honey sweetness, very moderate hops. Drinkable of course, but not very exciting.

Ya, the smell is not anything special here. Taste is typical for the style, with wheat, banana, and pear flavors. The look is generic, except for the head, which is very compact and fluffy. The mouthfeel is the winner here. Very syrupy for a 5.6 beer and the head is DELICIOUS--so fluffy and soft. A nice one to drink on the regular, if only the price were more local than import...

Light amber in color and somewhat hazy. Ripened peach, green apple and pear as well as gum sweetness. Has a honey sweetness with more light fruits, some biscuit crust and a faintly herbal denouement. Medium in body, smooth and soft. Never can tell how long these imports have been sitting around and where but this one triumphs in the satisfaction department even though it's a little sweet in spots.

Clear golden color with white head.Aroma is mostly focused on earthy/leafy hop notes with a clean malt background. Taste is astringent, grainy, slightly tart, hoppy with a light to medium bitterness and dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Quite smooth yet dry lager, really well brewed and easy drinking.

On tap at BC's Pizza & Beer
A: Pours golden amber with a frothy white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves some light lacing.
S: Spicy, fruity, mild citrus, bready malt, and and a little caramel/honey sweetness.
T: Mild citrus up front, orange and lemon, a bit spicy, fruity notes, pear, apple, bready malt, and honey sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Nice way to jump into Oktoberfest. Digging the citrusy notes.
