Bright golden pour with a sturdy pure white head. Grainy nose and cereal flavor with a lively bite. Not as biscuity as a true German Kolsch but still enjoyable and crushable.

Part of a sample my wife and I shared. The two of us together couldn't finish the 5oz sampler glass. It was that bad.
I'd like to be constructive, but it's hard. It did look nice: very pale and clear. No head left by the time it reached our table except for a tiny white ring. There was nothing in the aroma to indicate anything wrong, although there wasn't a whole lot of aroma of any sort.
But one sip was enough to show that there was something very wrong with this beer. Seriously wrong. Infected, perhaps, or very stale ingredients. Kind of a cardboard base with a solvent undertone. We kept taking little sips, thinking that maybe it would improve as it warmed, but it didn't.
Triumph has a great reputation and some of the other beers in the sampler were lovely. So I am assuming that this was just a bad batch or a dirty beer line. But it was really bad.

It arrived looking a pale yellow color with no head and very sparse carbonation. The aroma was nice, as the malt and bitterness were easily detectable. But this did not translate into a nice flavor. The flavor was heavily dominated by malt and a bit of bitterness arrived late on the tongue.
The mouthfeel was also strange for a Kolsch. Definitely flat. The body was smooth, almost syrupy and more towards medium level in thickness, not crisp and light like others I have had experienced.
